‘ DUMPSTER Percussion ‘

Using sledge hammers , A 36 inch crow bar, even some very
large steel truck wheels ; helped along the way to creating
this small , yet powerful kontakt build!!

Ive sampled a large construction dumpster inside and out ,
and all points between. Ive Also sample a few residential
apartment complex size dumpsters, ‘got some really nice
creepy lid raising samples’ that I think you’ll find really
useful.

Even though all the folks at the dumpster rental place had
thought I’d lost my mind ; ( with microphones, stands and
cables running everywhere ) , they endured my maniac-ish
nonsense and allowed me complete freedom as I beat the hell
out of this dumpster!

Ive created several variations with the samples I had
finally decided to use. Creating some layouts I think
you’ll find useful even for use as a stand alone percussion
setup , for those special composition needs you might have.

And of course …. some really nice EFx and just a tad few
loops for you to play around with.

I must say, Im very pleased how this package turned out,
and although it has arrived a little later then my first
anticipated release date , I think you’ll find this build
VERY USEFUL , and well worth the wait!!

So now, You’ll have your own personal Dumpster percussion!!

‘Casitone 201′

This is a Build of the Very first synth/keyboard that
Casio made! And Im tellin ya, man!! this thing is built!
ALL WOOD outer skins and frame, inside super heavy steel
chassis, And rear output panel, built with TOP quality
electronics thru out!!

It’s Presets are a wide variety ranging from Flutes, to
Harpsichord, to Organs. Mostly, pretty typlical for any
early keyboard. The keyboard is 49 keyz / 4 octave.

What I found really nice about doing this build, was how
‘Warm’ it sounded while I recorded it …… wOw!!!

I ran it directly into one of my Delta 1010′s at sample
rate of 44 and 24 bit. All in mono, right to the PC.
All edits completed using Sound Forge v8, and the only
plugin used for enhancement was Steinberg’s Magneto.

So many of the Tones/sounds almost the same, in fact,
the bulk of the presetz did; so I was very picky about
what ended up in this build. But Im real sure, your
gonna just LOVE it !!!

‘Hang W0k’

Using carbon Steel ‘  restaurant grade’ cooking wok’s,
I built two : ( 14-inch & 20-inch) hang (Drum) – ’wok’ !!
Ive been working on this idea ever since I built my
‘Hank Tank’, So the tone has come out rather surprising,
sounding like a cross between a ringing hang drum, and a
Steel drum sound!!

I used several different micing technikz to get the different
sounds I needed, and different rooms also. Moving from
my vocal booth to my drum room, and then onto my
Control room also.

Ive built several different approaches to this thing, because
its really become quite overkill with others building the same
thing over and over with this particular instrument.

You’ll find velcoity, multi-layered, keyswithed and Round Robin
thru out all these nki builds, I really think you’ll nJ0y this creation!

‘AnaloG’

A friend has started a projekt, building a very OLD
analog IC boards with a TUBE (yes I said TUBE!);
Rectifier OUTPUT!!!

He has brought it to my attention to help him design
the midi circuitry it will need; to adapt it to a PC
in order to make its functions werk properly.

So now it will be my task, to go thru all the knobs
and circuits, and label them accordingly ; as to what
they are and do .

This has taken some time ‘for sure’!!

So slowly and surely with ‘pain staking’ care,
I created several very kOOL ‘tweak at the moment
presets’. As there was no way to save presets,
“except to write down where all the knob and fader
settings were!!”

Its tones and output are a dream come true to me!
The synth has a TOTAL analog gritty tone to it,
and even the tube rectifier output can manage to make
it MORE PURE in my opinion. Complete warmth in a
machine design to sound cold & Sterile !!

‘Thunder Drumz’

Thunder Drums became my attempt of creating some Real
Drums of War, that would be Powerful, yet at the same
time, able to fit into even a relaxed ambient piece of
werk, as an underlayer.

Ive used several Drums in this build, and as it would
go; this build itself was inspired by my soon to be
release of ‘Dumpster Percussion’ . And in fact , a large
portion of the recordings for this build, were completed
inside the very dumpster I had sampled!!

Ive used a variety of drums as listed below:

- 26 inch Ludwig Concert bass
- 36 inch suspended baton bass drum
- 2 x 33 inch steel barrel home made-(Oil Drums).
- 3 Floor Toms (16 – 18 & 20 inch).
- 24 inch Tama Kik Drum

This is a build from files on the internet, That
have been sampled from this battery operated key
board. Its only one simple bank, but it sounded
very good, so I thought Id create a kontakt build
for all to use!!
